The Tentara Nasional Indonesia - Angkatan Darat (TNI-AD, Indonesian Army) is set to receive three CN235-220M for troop transport duties.

With this order, the Indonesian military will also operate this transporter in addition to the Tentara Nasional Indonesia - Angkatan Udara (TNI-AU, Indonesian Air Force) and Tentara Nasional Indonesia - Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL, Indonesian Naval Aviation), which have eight respectively six aircraft in their active inventory.

Currently, the Indonesian Army operates the CASA C212 built under licence in Indonesia. These NC212s are based at Tangerang/Pondok Cabe with Skadron Udara Angkatan Darat 21 (SkUAD21).

Most probably, the CN235s will also be operated by SkUAD21.

PT Dirgantara Indonesia will deliver the first of these airframes in 2026.
